Many of our customers, when they first walk into the shop, are unsure of the different types of flooring and what would suit them best. I’m going to give you a brief description on some of the flooring available, so you are more informed when deciding what is the perfect flooring for your home.

Carpets

Loop Pile- Loop pile carpet means that the carpet is looped to create a structure, berber loop pile carpets are chunky and gives a cushioned feel underfoot. Level loop pile carpets are highly durable and has a uniform look, you can also get multi level loop pile carpets which can create patterns within the pile.

Shorter, denser twist pile carpets are also ideal for areas with heavy traffic. Cut and twist pile carpets can be plain or with a varying degree of flecks. There are also a lot of super soft carpets, which can be made from polypropylene (stain resistant) or polyamide, which has a great bounce back ability but isn’t stain resistant.

Wool carpet has excellent appearance retention properties, it’s available in different styles and is very hardwearing, so it’s great for areas that are used more often.

Laminated Wood

Laminated wood is an excellent choice for areas that get a lot of use, it’s easy to clean and very low maintenance. ‘Quick Step’ has a few ranges which are also resistant to water so you can use it in any room of your home. As well as the traditional wood designs there are lots of contemporary styles to choose from including tile effects

Vinyl

With hundreds of colours and designs, this is a very versatile material. Vinyl is traditionally used in kitchens and bathrooms due to its waterproof quality, but due to the vast choice in qualities and design it can be used in many areas of the home.
